Independence Notice: Quietly Sober is an independent sobriety support application and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), or any other 12-step program or recovery organization. We are a standalone platform providing digital tools and community support for individuals on their sobriety journey.

- Sobriety Date: The date you began your sobriety journey
- Milestones: Custom milestones you choose to track
- Calendar Events: Milestone events you add to your device calendar (stored locally)
- App Settings: Your preferences for notifications, display options, and app behavior
- Discussion Posts: Content you share in the community discussion boards
- Private Recovery Journal: Encrypted journal entries you write, visible only to you
- Daily Check-Ins: Mood and reflection responses you record
- Sponsor Finder: Sponsor/sponsee profile details, request cards, and relationship status if you choose to participate
- Meeting Attendance: Attendance and verification records for meetings you join
- Supporter Payments: Subscription and contribution status (see "Payments" below for how the payment itself is handled)

- Device Information: Basic device type and app version for technical support
- Push Notification Tokens: Anonymous tokens to send you milestone notifications (if enabled)
- Crash Reports: Anonymous technical data to improve app stability
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Your real name or personal identity
- Location data or GPS tracking
- Contacts or address book information
- Photos or media files
- Browsing history or other app usage
- Your card number or other raw payment details — payments go directly through Apple, Google Play, or our payment processor (see "Payments" below)

3. Data Storage and Security
Local Storage First
Most of your data is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms:
- Core Data: Sobriety date, milestones, and settings remain on your device
- Calendar Integration: Events are stored in your device's native calendar app
- Encrypted Storage: Sensitive data is encrypted using industry-standard methods
Cloud Storage
Limited data is stored securely in the cloud for essential features:
- Discussion Posts: Community content stored on secure servers
- App Analytics: Anonymous usage data to improve the app

- Industry-standard encryption for data transmission and storage
- Regular security audits and updates
- Access controls and authentication for our systems
- No storage of personally identifiable information where possible
4. Payments
Quietly Sober Supporter ($4.99/month) and the one-time Seventh Tradition Contribution are processed by Apple, Google Play, or our payment processor (Stripe or PayPal), depending on how you subscribe. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and your subscription status, but we never see or store your full card number, bank details, or other raw payment credentials. Financial status never affects your access to recovery content, meetings, or the community.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Quietly Sober is used globally. If you are accessing the app from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.
